Singapore Construction Productivity Week

March 15, 2013

The upcoming Singapore Construction Productivity Week 2014 is an annual event for the built environment sector to share knowledge on construction productivity, as well as learn from the best practices and new technologies.

The Singapore Construction Productivity Week (SCPW) will be held during the National Productivity Month, from 13 to 16 October 2014 at Singapore Expo and Max Atria. SCPW presents a great platform for suppliers, developers, architects, consultants and builders to come together and exchange ideas in transforming the built environment sector into one that is integrated, technologically-advanced and productive.

Since the launch of BCA’s Construction Productivity Roadmap in 2011, the industry has made significant progress in adopting more efficient construction designs and methods. To date, more than 80% of the BCA Construction Productivity and Capability Fund (CPCF) has been committed to help firms improve their productivity through technology adoption, process re-engineering as well as workforce training and upgrading programmes. .

BCA - International Experts: More benefits can be reaped from BIM

September 5, 2012

Singapore, 1 August 2013 - There has been significant progress in promoting Building Information Modelling (BIM) in Singapore. The adoption rate has gone up from 20% in 2009 to 65% today. The IPE commended Singapore for being in a leading group of countries at the forefront of driving BIM transformation and adoption through public and private sector partnership.

The IPE recommended that a national BIM research roadmap be formulated with the two new Centres of Excellence (COE) at the National University of Singapore (NUS) and Nanyang Technological University (NTU). The new COEs at NUS and NTU should work with government procurement entities (GPE) and private sector stakeholders to develop research in BIM that will transform the built environment sector.
